Career Highlights include performing at the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Folklife Festival as a member of the City of Washington Pipe Band as well as competing in the Gr 1 World Championships with Windsor Police with several of his students. Also, starting the Great Lakes Pipe Band with a group of friends and going on to finish second in Gr 2 at the North American Piep Band Championships.

Studied under Doug Ross, Ken Eller, Sandy Keith, Noel Slagle, and Bob Worrall, and had his Piobaireachd training from Jim McIntosh. 

A successful solo player having won the Ohio Scottish Games Piper of Day 3 times and won or placed at virtually every major contest in Ontario, Midwest and East including North American Championships in Maxville. Finished solo career at Open level.

Current Pipe Major Great Lakes Pipe Band.

Former member Windsor Police Pipe Band Gr 1 and City of Washington Gr 1 Pipe Band, 87th Cleveland Gr 2 Pipe Band, and Western Reserve Gr 2 Pipe Band. Began career playing with The Caledonian Pipe Band, Cleveland, OH.

Former Pipe Sergeant and Pipe Major of North Coast Pipe Band.

Produced or co-produced five recordings in career. Pipes UP, New Crossroads and Dirty Laugh while Pipe Major of North Coast Pipe Band. Generations while a member of 87th Cleveland Pipe Band, and Debut while Pipe Major of the Great Lakes Pipe Band.

Has been a bagpipe instructor in the Cleveland Ohio area for many years. Barry been an instructor at the Ohio Scottish Arts School 2008-2015, Alma College Workshop and Erepa Grotto Pipe Band Workshops. List of accomplished students include Laureano Thomas-Sanchez, Tyler Tagliaferro, Nathan Zeigler, Colin Stacy, Melissa Giles, Matt Frazier, Max Rieker, Kevin Burke, Ian Hamilton, Jason Beard, Elly Ciesinski and Aedan Conway.
